Quiet water dripping from a kitchen sink tap, with a rate going from approximately 99bpm down to 94bpm by the end of the recording. Captured with my smartphone's voice notes app. There's also some human voices in the background, possibly from another room or a tv.

This sound is a collection of noises intended to respresent: a blind person's cane, someone trying to crack a safe and a person searching for something - such as in a store room. It was recorded using a shure sm58 and a marantz digital hard drive recorder.

Crude arpeggio and single note taps of the inner strings of an early-20th-century chas m. Stieff upright piano. This particular model was made in baltimore and spent most of its life in the lobby of the willard intercontinental hotel in d. C. , and the last 30 years in our home in fairfax, virginia. We are dismantling part of the piano to repair, clean, and, unfortunately, sell it. The mechanism for one note is the only problem, and, of course, it needs tuning. I took this sample from a phone message. I did use a live feed,(from the headset output on my phone, through a cable into my digital recorder. ) but it is very soft. When i tried recording with out the live feed, i couldn't even find the noise again. It could definitely use to be amped up a bit.

20 seconds of me tapping my fingers on a table.

I've encountered fantasicly squeaky screws when putting together an mdf cabinet. The screws were driven with a scredriver into pre-puchend holes in an mdf panel. Recorded with zoom h1 at 96khz / 24-bit. Converted to flac using sox. No processing or editing was performed for maximum flexibility nad retaiging highest quality. Also out of laziness. Enjoy!.

A morphagene reel culled from an improvisation i made on a eurorack modular synth. Qu-bit electronix scanned is the sole voice here. Splices in the reel are ordered from somewhat delicate (taps, pulses, etc. ) to pretty chaotic noise. All recorded into a zoom h6.

This was recorded with my 9-year old for a phone app called tiddl. The app was developed to interrogate whether cats could be entertained with a phone app. The recording features torn and crumpled paper, little noises we use to attract our cat, casio. Also featured are: toilet flushing sounds, running water sounds, banter with my studio mate, and a heated exchange about engineering technique.
